I'm Stoked!

As many of you know, I've been severely depressed for almost a year now. I've been spending a lot of time on deviantART lately and just a couple of days ago I came across the most amazing artist: this_is_nati. Natalia is from Puerto Rico and is beaming with talent! The art pictured above really caught my eye, not only for the colorful random goodness exploding from the girl's head, but because the title of it is "Happy Thoughts." I've not been having too many of those lately, but this picture made me smile.

One of my fellow dA friends decided that I had to have this piece of art, so he purchased it for me. I was so happy, I about cried! But that's not all of it! Natalia was giving away a drawing to her 2000th viewer, which just happened to be me! She asked what I would like incorporated into my drawing and I said, "bunnies, robots, and rockets." (She also has an affinity for robots.)

So needless to say, I'm very happy with these recent fortunate events! I will cherish Natalia's art forever and be ever so grateful to my friend for buying me the print that I coveted.

EDIT: I didn't expect to receive Natalia's kiriban drawing so soon, but I just got it a couple of hours ago! It's titled "And Away We Go." Here it is, and it's fabulous!

Super Albino Llama for JinxBunny

If you're a member of deviantART, you know all about the llama badge craze. I was ragging my friend, JinxBunny, today about not having a super albino llama like I do. I felt a little bad, so I made him a special one.

For Emma and Lillian

I made these two "Vampire Moon Bunnies" at Sug's daughter, Emma's request. Apparently the vampire bunnies all live on the moon. I was not aware of this fact until Sug informed me. I'll mail them out soon!

Marry Me Bill! (Don't Worry, We Won't Consummate It)

Thank you Mr. Keckler (not sure why I call you that; it just sort of sounds official) for making me smile when no one else could today. THIS made my day! Love ya! (EDIT: I had to add a picture.)

I Miss You (You Sarky English Prick)

I miss you, dude. I'm really sorry for everything I did to piss you off. Hopefully one day you'll forgive me and we'll be mates again. (I'm reading "Watership Down" by the way. It's pretty good. It's all about bunnies!)

Kawaii Bunny Plushie

I was becoming rather bored with my other bunny pattern, so I drew up a new one. The lines are still simple because I can't cut worth shit and the face is embroidered in a kawaii style. I've posted a How-To on Cut Out + Keep.

Folks, I'm Sick. Please Give Me a Break!

I'm going through a rough time in my life, and those of you who are true friends know this. I have bipolar disorder and was recently hospitalized for a suicide attempt. My depression is still not under control as during my last suicide attempt, I lost my best friend in the world and he has now chosen to act as if I succeeded in ending my life. I'm still plagued by suicidal thoughts and comments attacking my religious beliefs (especially since the person doing so is still friends with my former best friend) are exacerbating the problem. So if you don't have anything nice to say, please keep your mouth shut!

Diamond Necklace for Under $1!

I was thinking about how I'd love to have a diamond necklace, but I'm jobless and broke. Therefore, I decided just to sew one! All the elements used to make this necklace are extremely cheap (felt, embroidery floss, ball chain, thread) and add up at under a dollar. Not exactly the real thing, but it'll have to do for now.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! (Or Happy Zombie Jesus Day to those of you with a sense of humor). Have a great time with your family and friends today at church, an Easter egg hunt, or in my case, at the Cracker Barrel (yes, my mother doesn't want to cook so the family is headed out to the Cracker Barrel). Allie, my niece, is looking forward to hunting Easter eggs in the "tall grass" at my parents house because Poppy (my dad) hasn't been feeling well lately, so he has neglected to cut the grass.

Much love,

Finger Puppet

This started out as a very small plushie, but when I started to stuff it I noticed that it would make a kickass finger puppet! There are two sides to it on which I embroidered the design (which is inspired by Paul Frank's monkey, Julius). I actually think this first side looks a little like Bumpo with an eye patch.

Although this finger puppet is very small, it took me like two hours to do the embroidery. It may have been because I was tired after listening to the drunken redneck outside my window all night. (See previous post).

Dear Drunken Redneck Outside My Window

Dear Drunken Redneck Outside My Window,

Why in the hell are you outside my window at 4:23 a.m.? And why do you find it necessary to speak at the top of your lungs in a falsetto voice? At first I thought you were looking for your cat ("here kitty kitty!," "here Snowbird!"), but now I'm not so sure you even know what in the hell you're talking about ("hey darlin', hey darlin', hey darlin'!").

Your accent is annoying enough in itself, but the addition of the falsetto tone is especially hard to take. Do you realize I've been listening to your incoherent babble for the past hour as have the other dozens of people whose windows you're lurking outside of in this cramped residential neighborhood? They were most likely sleeping, dear drunken redneck, but I am awake and I've been listening to you for an hour now.

I thought about calling the police, but I don't want to waste my early morning hours talking to an officer, or making the unnecessary call to 911: "What's your emergency?" "There is a drunken redneck lurking outside of my window speaking loudly in a falsetto voice." "We'll send out an officer." (Time elapses, another hour, maybe two). The falsetto voice keeps on. Dear drunken redneck, be glad I do not own a firearm. (Please just pass out already!)

Your pal,

Good Friday

Good Friday wasn't so good for me, but it wasn't very good for Jesus either, so I guess I'm in great company. That is all.

(Happy Zombie Jesus Day on Sunday, just in case I don't tell y'all then--that means Happy Easter, and yes, I'm a Christian. Thanks for asking).

Sober Bunny

What do you get for the friend or relative in rehab who has everything? (Okay, so they don’t really have anything because they pissed it all away in pursuit of their habit). How about Sober Bunny? Sober Bunny detests all fermented beverages and is the perfect Easter gift for the recovering (or not yet recovering) alcoholic in your life.

Sober Bunny was born out of sheer boredom and the following excerpt from a phone conversation I had today with a close friend who is away in rehab. (I’ll call him “Dumbass” to protect his anonymity--it’s a term of endearment. I swear!):

Me: Guess what?
Dumbass: What?
Me: Everyone loved the bunnies I made for my graduation today. (Referring to the 14 bunnies I made for the members of my therapy group and counselors).
Dumbass: Why didn’t you make me one? (Please notice that I did not receive a congratulations).
Me: Because you already have one, dumbass! (Referring to the first Love Bunny I ever made which he took with him to rehab).
Dumbass: Just f***ing with you!

Hopefully the facility my friend is in uses X-rays to screen their mail for contraband because I would be devastated if Sober Bunny gets destuffed! I predict a similar phone conversation to follow:

Dumbass: I love Sober Bunny and so did my friend, Dipshit! He wants to know if you can make a Crack is Wack Bunny.
Me (Thinking): Google Image = “crack pipe.”
