It's Zombie Swap Time!

Well it's that time again! Sug is hosting the second Cut Out + Keep Zombie Swap! I hosted the first one about a year ago, and swap master, Sug, has decided to organize a second round to satisfy her urge to create all that is undead! I said that I wasn't going to participate in another swap until after I'd finished moving, but the send out day is "May-ish," so I couldn't pass this one up. I've already made a couple of my own undead projects for my yet to be announced partner. If you're a member of Cut Out + Keep and have participated in previous swaps successfully we're be more than happy for you to join us! (I'll try to remember to post pictures of the things I make for this swap, but I can't promise anything because I think a zombie must have eaten my brain).

LOST Swap with Alejandra

Here is what I've been waiting for all season! No, not the secrets of Richard Alpert's origins, but the undoubtedly amazing LOST swap from my friend in Mexico, Alejandra! Ale sent me the most fabulous swap ever! Pictured above is a necklace made from the numbers, a bunny ring, a traditional Mexican bag (very retro 1977 Dharma-esque), and a journal decorated with Henry Gale's balloon!
Next is a sewing/embroidery kit with the polar bear embroidered on front.

The inside is filled with all kinds of sewing/embroidery goodies and a tiny little Mayan doll.

A Dharma van plushie! (I'm loving the detail she put into this).

And last, but certainly not least, a bunny plushie! Thank you so much, Ale! You did an outstanding job on this swap! (I can't wait to try out the mole and chocolate you included in the package--YUM)!

Jinx and Minx Bunny Fan Art

Here are the two bunnies I made as fan art and submitted to deviantART for my friend, Jinx Bunny, a.k.a. JMKit. They are my representation of the JMKit characters Jinx and Minx Bunny (Jinx is the boy and Minx is the girl just in case you didn't know). Enjoy!

Bunnies!

I started making these bunnies over a month ago. They started out as part of the LOST swap project for Alejandra. (I totally forgot to take pictures of Ale’s LOST swap before I sent it out, but will post pictures of hers when I receive it). I initially made the infamous Bunny 8 by using a fabric marker to draw on the 8 and the eyes. The marker bled too much on the felt, so I decided to embroider those elements onto the bunny instead.

I had so much fun making and remaking Bunny 8, but knew that many people who I wanted to give the bunnies to would not appreciate the LOST reference. So instead of the 8, I chose the heart to replace it. I’ve even made a few zombie bunnies with a stitched heart and x-ed out eyes of which I sent a couple to my friend, Stu, of BuyZombie.com.

I’m now making these bunnies as graduation gifts for my fellow group therapy members, birthday gifts, and Happygrams on Cut Out + Keep. I even made an Alice in Wonderland White Rabbit version for the Alice in Wonderland swap on Cut Out + Keep which I just sent out to Jeanette. (I forgot to take pictures of everything I created in that swap as well, but will post pictures of her creations when I receive them).

I am completely addicted to making these little bunnies. They are so fun and easy to make and sewing seems to calm my nerves a lot. So don’t be surprised if you receive your own little bunny in the mail from me!

Mr. Keckler Has Moved!

One of my favorite bloggers, Bill Keckler, has used up all the labels on his previous blog, Joe Brainard's Pyjamas, and has started a new one; Joe Brainard's Pyjamas (The Sequel). It's a must read!

Things are Getting Better . . .

Anyone miss me? I've been away for a little while trying to get well. Depression is a "fickle bitch" as Benjamin Linus would say. Although I lost my best friend during my last depressive episode, I am getting better despite the sadness I'm having dealing with that loss.

I'm keeping busy attending group therapy 5 days a week. I should be done with that part of my treatment next week and then will move on to individual therapy. I've been crafting up a storm, but keep forgetting to take pictures of the items I make before packing them up to send out to swap partners or customers. Speaking of packing; I have to move by the middle of next month and need to begin that process. My friend is coming over today to help me get started.

So that's what has been going on in my little part of the world . . .

Cool LOST ATC's

Here are some cool LOST ATC's I received from the swap I hosted recently on swap-bot. Mom2Sammy was the artist who created these.

The Archie comic one is my favorite.

This one is dedicated to my friend, Alejandra. (Sorry, Ale, I'm keeping it!).
